Babes' gender appears to be affected by food eaten by their mother, similarly to Sims 2 and the cheescake effect. These need to be eaten in the first trimester of pregnancy - so - after she starts to show.

• Foods containing watermelon increase the chance of female babies - buy it at the store and can be eaten raw.
• Foods containing apple increase the chance of male babies.
• Watching the children's channel on TV may increase the chance of multiple births.
• There is a reward that increases the chance of twins or triplets for flirty Sims.
• There is also a fertility treatment reward.

Babies and toddlers need socialising... once they reach toddler stage, the stuffed bear toy and the dolls house helps with this once they have learned to talk; put the bear in their crib with them, or on the floor and direct them to play with it.

Suggested routine is change dirty diaper/feed/snuggle/put in crib.
