[ Challenges ] [ Sims 3 Stories ]
I bought a new kitchen table and chairs and painted the kitchen units to match them.
Avery put me some shelves up, and I'm saving for a Canning Station!
Planted the beginnings of my garden.
We had a burglar but he was caught before he could harm anything. The worst thing was actually the alarm. We were all shouting "turn it off!" Avery was more concerned about my coming outside in my bra and knickers.
Avery got a promotion! Still only level 2 but hey, whatever.
Both boys aged up. That was quite a relief, to all of us.
Ace tells me his lifetime want is to flirt with every female around, though I suspect Lara won't let him! he and Lara Hookins are already an item.
Alan landed a job as a Private Eye, and spent a lot of time hanging around at the Police Station. He's fond of Pepita Hookins, but he is much more shy than his brother. For now they are "just good friends" but I have high hopes. How nice would it be for our boys to marry their girls? Pippsi, their mother, is so nice, in spite of being a celebrity. She isn't at all stuck up; I don't know Larry very well yet but he and Avery get on well.
Avery was promoted again. His new job title is Report Processor.
Alan has a knack for fixing things. That is very useful when the household is, as usual, short of money. Of course, that TV is old, but it was top of the line when we bought it.
He seems quite good at the detective stuff too.
This morning, Lara turned up at breakfast! That means she stayed over! In other words. she had spent the night with Ace... in his room! We need to start planning for a wedding, I think. Very soon.
After I nagged him a little, Ace did the formal proposal thing and asked Lara to marry him!
Sigh. My son!
It will come as no surprise that he asked her in front of the toilet blocks at the Festival.
She spent a lot of time at our house, of course. It's almost as if she had moved in already.
"Are you sure she's not pregnant? I need to organise your wedding. Receptions - buffets - cakes - dresses... Oh dear oh dear."
"But Mom we want a very plain wedding, nothing fancy!"
"Of course, dears, whatever you want. We can't afford a big do anyhow. I'll bake a cake... and we must at least invite her family over. What will you wear, Lara?"
"Mom bought me a pretty white dress, I'll show you."
Alan and Pepita were going out regularly and finally decided to plan a wedding of their own. I was quite relieved to see that she didn't appear to be in a hurry to move in.
Alan seemed to be spending most of his detecting time, doing - well, detecting! at the library.
"It's quiet there, Mum. I can think there, and there's no distractions," glancing at his sister-in-law, and his brother who was as usual napping in front of the television.
The island's library is cool and dark and tasteful. Pepita seems to like it there too.
Aislara called Alan "for a case" which turned out that she needed him to babysit, as she wandered off when he was trying to interview her. He spent a happy evening reading to and playing at Royal Palaces with her three children, and he told the Police Comissioner that assignment had been to protect the children from the feral paparazza.
The Commissioner believed him, it seems, as he was promoted. I told him, doing favours for celebrities wouldn't do his career any harm.
Alan announced that now that he had a decent job, he was going to move out.
Now they were engaged, he finally accepted Pepita's offer and went to live with her parents.
As he had no savings, they thought this would would work out better for the time being. Our house feels empty without him, though they live just across the island and come over often.
I keep asking Lara when I'm likely to hear the patter of little feet. Everyone wants to be a Grandma, don't they? She just shrugs and says "Not yet." If it goes on a long time she'll go and see a doctor.
I'm not sure that's even legal.
