[ Coastal Living Challenge ] [ Sims 3 Stories ]
This was a very interesting challenge to do and came at the right time for me as we recently had a week's holiday in a beautifully decorated holiday house (originally a miner's cottage) near the sea in Wales. Not that this looks anything like it but it was inspiring.
I want to remodel it to use in Crescent Cove, so it needs to be a small lot - 30x30 or smaller. I chose the EA house, Just-a-Home, 357 Hill Street, from Starlight Shores.
I moved in Kawab and his new GF, Toya, and their kitten Eeny (one of Jezzer's cats' kittens - no tail, small ears). The original layout is very plain.
I raised the roof so that they could have a room upstairs.
Removed car parking space and added the covered outdoor dining area, disguised from street view by a wall.
The porch looks a little grander, thanks to Toya's carpentry skills. Yes, that's a cannon. Kawab insisted they bring it with them.
The hallway\entrance room.
Cupboard under the stairs with old record-player and Eeny!
To a kitten, everything is huge.
Cat's eye view. On the left is a large mirror, an attempt to make the space seem larger.
Apologies for the fish-eye view, which I loathe. It seems to be the only way to photograph these small rooms. A rather old-fashioned kitchen with a modern cooker.
For privacy and shelter from prevailing winds, the outer dining area is closed off by a wall, and warmed on cool nights by the living room chimney.
The back door (pantry door).
Pantry itself.

Overall layout view. I haven't done much with the garden yet; unlike most of my Sims families, neither Sim has shown any interest in gardening,
There's quite a bit of CC here. Some is ShinoKCR and Cashcraft at TSR. Quite a bit is Around the Sims :)
