"Coastal design is synonymous with an easy, care free way of living. Home design is informal and comfortable, where everyone, even the dog, hangs out after those long afternoons at the beach. The kind of place where people put their feet up on the furniture or lounge in an overstuffed chair with a good book. Think of open floor plans with lots of windows that let in the light and ocean breezes and provide views of the beach, ocean, or harbor. Picture barefoot friendly floors, wicker and woven furniture, weathered white woods, easy care fabrics and interesting textures, with unexpected pops of color. I've provided a few examples of coastal design but remember it's more about a way of living than particular colors.
Contest Rules
You may select an EA home from any world to makeover in a coastal design theme. You are allowed to move walls, windows, stairs, and doors. You may add windows,doors, interior and exterior walls. Essentially, anything goes. Custom content may be used. Landscaping will be considered as coastal living also incorporates activities and entertaining. Please provide one before picture. Start a new thread in Sims 3 Building and Decorating forum to post your entry.
Judging
Entries will be judged on how well the theme is captured and the functionality of the design. Remember, we are looking for functional rooms that are easy and practical to use, not just rooms that look good.
