[ One Cheat to Rule Them All ]
Commands at Neighbourhood Screen:
Changelotzoning
- To make a Residential or Commercial property into Apartments: (needs
Apartment Life EP)
Enter the Lot. Make sure there are no Sims living in the Lot.
Open the cheat box and
enter changelotzoning apartmentbase
Open the cheat box and
enter changelotzoning residential
Open the cheat box and
enter changelotzoning hotel
- Or to make a Lot into a Community Lot,
Open the cheat box and
enter changelotzoning community
Exit to the Neighbourhood Screen and then back to the Lot. Should
be changed now.
DO NOT rezone a beach lot into an apartment lot. This will severely corrupt
the ocean and Lot terrain and is strongly not recommended!
To Open the cheat box
- TerrainType
(Values desert/temperate) At neighbourhood view only (press Ctrl + Alt + C for
console), toggles between the two terrain types. Only use this in neighborhood
view!
- If you have Free Time, you can modify the
terrain in Neighbourhood Screen.
- deleteAllCharacters
At neighbourhood view only (press Ctrl + Alt + C for console), removes every
Sim from the neighbourhood.
- This removes all the Maxis Townies, NPCs, Nannies, Police, etc...
including the Secret Society Members in University towns.
- It removes Sims in the Sim Bin as well. To preserve them, zip them up
and save to your Desktop.
- This cheat can slow your game while the engine generates new Townies.
- According to Pescado and some others, it is not the best way to
dispose of Townies. Check MATY or SunSims for cheats and instructions on
how to do it better.
-
changeNeighborhoodType: [university | primary | downtown]
changes the type of the neighborhood. example: changeNeighbourhoodType
downtown
-
createNeighborhood : [neighborhoodName] [path to sc4 terrain file] [university | downtown | primary] creates brand new neighborhood and switches you to it
-
installNeighborhood : [templateNeighborhoodName] [newNeighborhoodName]
installs a dependent, template neighborhood to the current primary neighborhood
-
deleteNeighborhood : [neighborhoodName] Deletes the specified neighborhood
- setHighestAllowedLevel [level] Sets the highest allowed level
(default is 6). for example setHighestAllowedLevel 10 - but you probably
need to drop right down to basement level and then go back up to be able to
build at that level; and you will probably need to use the dormer trick to build upper
floors (put a dormer on the top, which can then be removed but leaves the
tile-spaces - somehow it fools the game into allowing an extra floor of
building). Save your lot. Go back to the Neighbourhood Screen, apply the cheat
and then re-enter the Lot, reloading it. That usually works.
I noticed that using this cheat, the upper floor roofs don't show up in
Neighbourhood View, so there could be a case for flat roofs for these tall
buildings, or (with Apartments) you need a floor to form a ceiling anyway, so
make sure you put one in, and it can double as a Neighbourhood roof.
For this you might like to use the Camera Mod made by Snappledude. Get it at Mod
the Sims 2 here. It works fine for me with all versions of Sims 2.
Make a Community Lot from your Residential Build
1. Make sure that there are no Sims on your lot. This won't work
otherwise.
2.
Enter your lot. Press 'Ctrl Shift C' to bring up the
cheat box, then type changelotzoning
residential OR changelotzoning community OR changelotzoning greek OR
changelotzoning dorm
- Residential enables the lot for Sims to live in.
- Community changes the lot to a Community lot.
- Greek changes the lot to a Greek House. (University Needed!)
- Dorm changes the lot to a Dorm. (University Needed!)
After this, save, go to Neighbourhood Screen, reload the Lot.
