This is a medieval mansion built by one Sir Sjostran. When he was knighted, in recognition of his services as the King's Equerry, he felt the need for a home worthy of this honour. He also needed room for his horses. And his cats! And two huge guard mastiffs! So he called this the Mews Mansion.
Our estate agent is Agnes Crumplebottom, who may be seen in some of the pictures. Offered unoccupied, the house takes two forms.
2) Medieval as first built by Sir Sjostran
Because it is on a rather small (30 x 30) plot of land, the property is quite cheap at §384,834.
Both the mews and the garage have been closed in to fit with modern ideas of heat conservation and security.
The great hall.
(You can see here Agnes' own inimitable sense of style!)
If your Sims are particularly fond of horses you might like to place it on a larger lot to give them room to move, train, etc.
The gentlemen's sitting room.
Upper floor layout has not changed apart from a small staircase for access to the attic.
Which has been converted to form a proper apartment for the butler, as servants no longer accept living in the cellar; the beams above the stable have also been reinforced. The original panelling has been restored where possible, modern plumbing inserted, and the former servant's dining area in the cellar has become a billiards room. (Of course the ancient wine racks are still there, though sadly, empty.)
Small vegetable garden for growing small veg where the horses cannot reach them.

2) In its mediaeval splendour, rather sparsely furnished.
Made with all EPs and SPs but probably doesn't use most of them, apart from Pets, a bathroom suite from Supernatural, and the all-in-one toilets from Movie Stuff.
There is also a dirigible, made by the fantastic Luna, which comes with the mediaeval version. The file is called luna_digibile movil2 and is included in the zip, as it can be hard to find - it's otherwise available from Sims File Share.) Yes, I KNOW dirigibles aren't mediaeval. But they are fun, and they fit with my kind of steampunkish mediaeval! It parks on a normal car-space. I'm afraid it rather increases the cost of the house.
As you can see, the "mews" at the right is large enough for a carriage and four, and leads directly to ample stables currently set up for three horses.
The really special feature of this house, for its day, is the indoor, long-drop toilets! These were quite an innovation in Sir Sjostran's day, and as far as I know only used in castles; most people were used to 'going' outside. The integral stone-built cesspit is beneath the house and may of course be reached from above by ladder; with a soil floor, it would allow its contents to naturally filter into the ground and enrich it, along with the effluent from the stables. So gardens here should do well!
Yes, this is a specially imported (and anachronistic) piano. Oh, and there were no fire alarms... there may be a little soot on the floor. Agnes had at least one fire to extinguish while she was staying here.
Stables.
The gallery, access to the Gentlemen's Sitting Room, (so called because Sir Sjostran never married), and one bedroom.
The other way along the Gallery. Ye olde shuffleboard and the door to the famous inside long-drop toilet! Also (unseen) two more bedrooms.
Upstairs layout. 3 bedrooms.
So in this house there are beds for three servants, stables for three horses, and loads of room for cats and dogs.
Basement kitchen, servants' sleeping and eating quarters and storage for nectar. On the right is the new cesspit. You really don't want to go down there.
The dirigible is the only piece of CC AFAICS. It's included in the zip. The filename is luna_digibile movil2.
This is as mediaeval as possible without using mediaeval CC. The all-in-one toilets came from Supernatural and I had all packs installed when making these houses.
