[ The Pescado Saga 2 ] [ Sims 2 Stories ]
Clone and Gali Jude had a quiet wedding, with just a couple of Gali's friends as witnesses. "I can't fit into a gorgeous wedding gown now anyway," said Gali. "And we don't want any fights at our weeding - it might upset the baby. We can have a party another time, when she's grown up a little. NO! I don't want any photographs while I am looking so bloated."
Pescado Senior told LaShawn "Of course you must stay here. I need you to look after offsprings! And," he admitted grudgingly. "I like having you around."
LaShawn was relieved. She really had nowhere else to go, and she was pregnant with Clone's baby. It was very inconvenient of him to marry Gali Jude. She was quite fond of the older Pescado too, now that she had got past his irascibility and seen how well he got on with the children, but marriage?
Pescado Senior was now a Congressman. He felt he had arrived, and would now able to shape what went on in the world.
LaShawn worked desultorily as a Lab Assistant but her real priority was the boys. Her baby was a little boy called Piraya, born without incident.
It did not seem long before both Greene and J.R. were teenagers.
"This is how we change the world."
Pescado had a ballet barre installed.
"I fear the coming zombie invasion. Need fitness. Get out of the way, boys, so I can practice my pliés."
"Yessir boss. School time anyhow, G."
The two older boys were getting ready to go to Uni.
Horror of horrors! Gali persuaded Clone to wear his beard shorter! And then she took him clothes shopping!
Clone said it was as well he had a decent career to pay for all those children: Greene, J. R. and Piraya, and now Gali's baby. Gali told him she wanted at least five more. "But all from you!"
But hers was a difficult pregnancy. Clone worried intensely that it might be something in his genes, that the baby or Gali might die, as Jill had, but tried not to say anything. Gali was always starving and had to camp out on a couch close to the fridge, napping between snacks. Clone took time off around the day the baby was due, to look after her. And in the end little Cally Jude was born. A beautiful little girl, though rather shy.
J M Pescado was thinking about marriage. He wondered if he should marry LaShawn. But somehow it didn't seem right. She was sweet, helpful, not a bad cook, and good to the children. But somehow he did not want to be committed to any one person. Well, actually, he daydreamed, lying on his bed; there were a couple of Sims in town that he could go for - with three bolts. But Rohina Winks was happily married to Lemmi, and Mater Davidoff was older, his age at least, and in the Asylum for alcoholism. Not a road he wanted to go down. Better to remain single than to accept second-best. He had a comfortable life. The Pescado genes were well and truly established in the Neighbourhood, thanks to Clone. Four children now. It suddenly came home to Pescado that he was a grandfather, four times over.
Downstairs at breakfast little Piraya did what children do best and asked: "Are you going to marry my Mum now my Daddy's had a baby with Gali?"
Pes blinked. LaShawn looked at him, and the boys, Greene and J.R. looked at him sideways.
"I'm not planning any weddings," he said gruffly and walked outside to kick the flamingo again.
LaShawn was thinking about marriage too. Now she had really loved Pes Clone, she felt he was The One for her. And it hurt to lose him to Gali, someone totally different from herself, someone, in fact, that she couldn't stand. She didn't want to marry Pescado Senior. Kids were funny at times, and Piraya hadn't meant any harm, but that had stung.
Later that day, LaShawn was playing chess on the balcony with Greene and spotted Gali Jude walking by. She ran out to talk to her. But every time she tried to say something the bile rose in her throat. She felt sick. Gali looked at her. "What?"
She finally got it out. "You stole my man."
"Your man?"
"..."
Yes, that's a flamingo. Pescado Senior had been studying Anger Management and one of the exercises was "Take it out on the flamingo".
"Oh, that's just Gali. She's not crazy, she's - Gali!"
"Oh, it's a beautiful day! The sun is shining and our womenfolk are knocking seven bells out of one another!"
Delighted with LaShawn's progress at baiting Gali, Pescado autonomously gave her a backrub.
Meanwhile, the men of the family had been working on Logic and Yoga.
"This is the perfect place for exercises. I can keep an eye out for invading zombies and Galis from up here."
He actually quite liked Gali and was pleased for Clone to be finally happily married. But he felt an alliance with LaShawn, who was, after all, a resident in his household and the mother of his grandson.
To be continued.
