Do you remember the old song? I fell in love with Sims 1 all over again this summer, having finally got it to play nice with my Windows 7. Amazingly short loading times, great animations, MOUNTAINS of wonderful custom content. What's not to like?
Bob thought he was in heaven.
until someone cut in.
"You snore."
"I am so miserable. My life involves torturing Sims!"
After taking out a loan to employ the Clown Catchers, Bob's life improved a little when he discovered he could make money by catching cockroaches.
Hanging out at the bar, on reflection, he should probably have bought some new clothes first.
But he still thought Betty was far more interesting than all those other people!
She said "I know what kind of place this is. Look at all those women in red dresses?"
He "But I have a tiny straggly flower for you. That makes it all right!"
Who knows.
Sunny followed them to their holiday hotel.
Well, sadly even their holiday by the sea couldn't solve things for Bob and Betty. So she moved out, and went to live with her young friend Chris Roomies.
Chris loved pink. Bob came to see her there, and hated it.
He was quite content as a bachelor, playing drinking games with Cornelia Goth and practising his guitar, saving up to buy himself a really good piano.
Something unexpected. Bob was spending more and more time with the Goths, and Mortimer asked if he could come and stay with Bob for a while, as things weren't going too well for him and Bella.
More late-night drinking sessions. Bob felt as if he were a marriage counsellor.
There were many late-night drinking and also poker sessions with his neighbours and friends.
and very soon
Mortimer decided it was time to move back home when he was promoted to Science teacher. There needs to be a certain level of respectability!
Having moved back home, he set fire to Bella's lovingly redecorated kitchen.
And returned to normal Sim life.
Bob and his ladies turned up at Mortimer's house one evening.
After many affairs, Bob finally married his second wife, Bonnie Somebody.
They had a son, Bobert. She gave up her career to look after little Bobert.
After some time, he was a Rock Star, and she had a job as a Convenience Store Clerk, which fitted around her son's school hours.
And while she was out at the shop, Bob moved another friend in, and married her! Mary Somebody. Mary was his third wife.
Bonnie took her son Bobert with her. They moved to 8 Sim Lane - a duplex - with Mike Bachelor as their landlord.
Betty, in turn, married Mike Bachelor.
And Bonnie finally got a better job.
So in this small duplex lived Mike Bachelor, his wife Betty (formerly Newbie), Bonnie Newbie (now divorced from Bob) and her son by Bob, Bobert.
Bob's career, as one might expect, was flying high - he was a Rock Star!
Downtown was pretty much as it had always been, even for Celebrity Activists.
Restarting after years of no Sims 1, because of the vagaries of Windows 7.
Some of the content shown is ATS. Bob's snazzy shorts and tracksuit top is by me using Sims Creator.
The drinking table came from 8Deadly Sims, the kitchen is of course Byline's.
