The best way to make an IF real is to use the potions bench (chemistry set). The option to turn in a Rainbow Gem at the Science Lab is illusory, unless you are in a World where you KNOW there are rainbow gems. Tranto was in Isla Paradiso and even adding a spawner did not find any.
The Potion is made at level 7, which isn't too bad.
Well, not for Tranto.
